Awarded to service personnel who served in support of Operation Desert Shield or Desert Storm, between 2 August 1990 and 30 November 1995 in Persian Gulf, Red Sea, Gulf of Oman, Gulf of Aden, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. Individuals serving in Israel, Egypt, Turkey, Syria and Jordan directly supporting combat operations between 17 January 1991 and 11 April 1991 are also eligible for this award.

To be awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, the individual must have rendered satisfactory performance under enemy fire while actively participating in a ground or surface engagement. U.S Coast Guard, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy from 1941 to present.


Afghanistan Service Ribbon

Afghanistan Service Ribbon

The decoration is awarded to any member of the U.S. military who has performed duty within the borders of HYPERLINK "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afghanistan" \o "Afghanistan" Afghanistan (or its HYPERLINK "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airspace" \o "Airspace" airspace) for a period of thirty consecutive days or sixty non-consecutive days. The medal is retroactive to October 24, 2001 and is active until a date to be determined. Or if wounded no time period required.
